Measuring Authenticity Mathematically
What is Authenticity?
How do we define authenticity in ourselves and others? Do we have the same definition in both situations?
Authenticity is a measure of how our internal intentions, our expressed intentions and our actual execution are in alignment. It is also an expression of how we observe this level of authenticity in others, what we expect from others and what we do when we do not receive the level of authenticity that we desire.
It is not an expression of "honesty" or "how good a person is". A person could consider themselves to be dishonest, could be considered to be dishonest by others and do dishonest things and therefore by definition, would still be an authentic individual.
The Origin Of Measuring Authenticity Mathematically
With his background in predictive analytics including human capital optimization and data envelopment analysis, Harry wondered if his passion for authenticity could find a home in the world of mathematics.
He has recently completed development of a mathematical tool that allows an individual or organization to self-assess their level of authenticity and to do so objectively and mathematically.
How Does It Work?
Using a 360-degree method of capturing data relevant to understanding a person or organization's authenticity level, a score (also known as an Authenticity Index) can be produced that describes that person or organization's level of authenticity.
Being able to assess a person or organization’s level of authenticity goes a long way towards predicting their behavior and thus their outcomes.
While many factors go into predicting success or failure, the Authenticity Index can play a significant role in predicting success or failure potential.
The Authenticity Index uses predictive analytics to analyze a number of components, including but not limited to: - Risk assessment using proprietary risk assessment methodologies - Understanding of risk as opposed to the independent risk assessment - Ability to learn / apply knowledge - Ability to collaborate / share - Past history of execution - Assessment of measurable outcomes - Assessment of strategic and tactical capabilities - Other internal and external factors
Authenticity Index Dashboard
The Authenticity Index can also be used to illustrate an interesting overview of society-at-large. Below is an example of an Authenticity Index Dashboard that will be available on this website soon that can be customized to include entities of one's choice.
