Leadership - Team Motivation
Leadership - Creating an Environment that Motivates Others An environment with great leaders is only of value when the team members are motivated to bring their best game to the table, feel that their contribution matters and that they have opportunity for personal and professional growth. Motivating teams in the 21st century requires new models that embrace our understanding of intrinsic motivators - understanding what each individual needs so as to experience a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment. Without embracing such a model or by embracing older "carrot and stick" models in a vain effort to motivate peope produces a team that is frustrated, demotivated and disconnected. Click the diagram below to see a mind map of Harry's interpretation of the key elements that go into creating a motivated team. This mind map references some of the great work by Daniel Pink, author of Drive and was created after an inspirational meeting with George Greene III, CEO of Water Missions International.
