Youth Goal Setting and Life Architecture In his years in New York City, Harry had many clients at the Metrotech complex in downtown Brooklyn. One of the things he observed during his daily visits to this part of New York were the number of youth who seemed in need of mentoring, support and guidance. With a pained heart and great curiosity, he explored the programs that were currently available to help the young people of the inner city to escape the cycle of violence, crime and poverty that oftentimes accompanies life in the inner city. While he found many programs that were providing good service to youth, he saw a need to hatch a larger, more collaborative solution that brought together the best of different organizations to leverage their respective corporate strengths and passions. The goal setting and life architecture program that resulted has been implemented in different forms in multiple cities in North America. The diagram below illustrates the core foundational elements of the goal setting program. Company names have been removed. Click on the image below to see a mind map of the initial program implementation. Note that this mind map is fairly large - an interactive version will be available shortly!.
